While the official launch of the iPhone 16 series is still a few months away, there have been numerous speculations about the features and design of the device. Here’s everything we know so far about the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models.
The much-anticipated iPhone 16 series is expected to be the biggest smartphone launch this year. Following the tradition, Apple is likely to unveil the new flagship iPhones in September 2024. This means we still have several months to go before anything becomes official. Given Apple’s tendency to remain tight-lipped until the last possible moment, we haven’t heard anything concrete from Cupertino giants yet. However, leaks and rumors about this have been circulating for months.
According to a recent report from Macrumors, the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature larger screens, approximately 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively. The Phone is expected to have a 6.27-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max might boast a 6.85-inch screen.
In addition to larger display sizes, the upcoming iPhones are rumored to have slightly larger dimensions in terms of height and width compared to their predecessors. Apple might have extra internal room as a result for different components. This anticipated development might allow the Pro model to include a larger and more durable battery. Furthermore, consideration is also being given to display enhancements.
Apart from the larger displays, there is speculation that Apple may introduce a new capture button in the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models. This button responds to touches without causing any movement in the body because it is made for haptic feedback. The button should respond to different pressure levels because it has an embedded force sensor. Reportedly, the capture button will streamline the video recording process for users, initiating video recording almost instantly.
A prototype of the phone suggests that the capture button could be located on the right side for easy access. Additionally, the button may do a number of functions based on the pressure applied, such snapping a picture with a light tap or starting a brief video clip.
The action button has numerous more uses, like text translation, turning on the flashlight, opening shortcuts, alternating between focus and non-focus modes, and much more.
In addition to these features, the iPhone likely to be powered by the new A18 Bionic chipset. Reports also indicate that the Pro model will come with a new “Tetra-Prism” telephoto lens, offering 5x optical zoom for better close-up shots. The phone is anticipated to have a 48MP ultrawide camera, which is a major upgrade from the iPhone 15 Pro model’s 12MP ultrawide sensor.
Remember that the official release of the iPhone 16 series is still a few months away. Even though some of these rumors might come to pass, Apple won’t formally announce anything until the end of this year.
